About the event
Gen V is hosting two political literacy and voter engagement events for high school and college-age students, scheduled during high school teacher in-service (work) days when students are otherwise out of class.
Unlike a traditional civics curriculum focused on how government functions, this program is designed as a facilitated, nonpartisan dialogue experience that helps young people examine their own political values, notice tensions between stated beliefs and voting behavior, and build the reasoning tools to navigate political discourse independently.
Each event uses a structured “values spectrum” activity and a set of real-world “civic dissonance” case studies to prompt reflection and peer discussion, facilitated by trained, neutral moderators following explicit nonpartisanship safeguards. The model is designed to be repeatable across school calendars and independent of any single election cycle.
